Anna Carina Roth (b. 1993, in AT) is a Vienna-based artist working across sculpture, installation, text, and expanded photographic processes. Her practice investigates the intersection of material agency, post-digital infrastructures and embodied communication. Roth is examining how communication shifts from immaterial networks back into physical encounters. Through ceramics, copper, natural rubber and light-sensitive materials, Roth constructs responsive systems in which transformation, oxidation, and temporal change become primary sculptural gestures. Her work often unfolds as a relational environment where visitors leave traces and become co-authors of subtle shifts in form and atmosphere. Drawing on poetic language and spatial choreography, Roth treats material as an active agent that records friction between bodies, architecture, and time.
Roth studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and the Dresden University of Fine Arts. Her work has been presented at Parallel Vienna, Galerie 52 in Essen, Kunstverein Baden, Foto Wien, La Ira de Dios (Buenos Aires), ARD Art Institution (Cairo), Open Art Link (Athens), and in multiple solo exhibitions in Vienna, Austria. She has received the Start Scholarship for Photography (Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport, Austria), the Project Grant for Literature (City of Vienna), the Emanuel & Sofie Fohn Scholarship, several working grants and international mobility grants supporting residencies and research abroad.
